Benedetto Boschetti (Italian, 1820-1879), resting satyr or Capitoline faun, 19th century, after the antique, signed 'B Boschetti Roma' on black and variegated rouge marble base, height 66 cm (overall). Provenance: Private Collection, Qld, reference: the resting satyr is one of the most prized ancient marbles in the Capitoline Museums (inv. No. 739) and is believed to be an ancient Roman copy of a Greek original attributed to Praxiteles
