Louis XVI style kingwood, tulipwood and ormolu mounted longcase clock, c. 1880, in the manner of Jean Henri Riesener, the two train movement striking on bell, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals, signed 'Girbelin a Paris', the drum case surmounted by putti playing with floral garlands amidst clouds, above a pedestal with sun mask, foliate and floral mounts, the trunk door with a glazed panel and a neoclassical mount, on a concave-sided plinth with toupie feet, with key and pendulum, height 230 cm.
