A large silk figural Qum rug an extraordinary rug of fine quality. Although Persian silk rugs with hunting themes go back to the 16th century, most are from the 20th, with generally light backgrounds. This is a rare find with 17 noble mounted hunters attacking gazelles and antelopes, in a landscape of small plants, on a pearl ground. Soft red border of birds and animals.
