Rare and interesting Regency shop display box, c.1820, of rectangular form, completely covered with lithographed paper depicting a guard house in a rural scene surrounded by scrolling acanthus and flowers to the sides. The interior lined with yellow paper and evidence of partitions, the inside lid engraving labelled 'Bazaar, Soho Square' depicting the inside of a shop, showing mechandise that appears to be jewellery, boxes and haberdashery as well as customers, the lower beam reading 'Observe no abatement can made from the ready money preaffixed' (no haggling or bartering), 8 x 25.5 x 19.5 cm.
