Rare 19th century French fitted Tinsmith box, the rectangular mahogany box fitted with brass carry handle to the cover, with central brass lock with working key and a latch hook to either side, opening to reveal a red velvet lined removable tray containing tools of the craft, with large compartment underneath containing tinplate samples, wax sticks and pins, also with octagonal staining bottle labelled ' Patine-Etain//Bourgeois Aine-Paris,' and additional tools, the inside of cover with examples of the phases of tin working and later insert, 8 x 29.5 x 20.5 cm.
