Stunning Continental Art Nouveau gilt metal and leather jewellery casket, of slightly tapered rectangular form, the hinged cover set with heavy swing handle above a portrait in relief depicting a young maiden, the body decorated with pierced stylised foliate motifs typical of the period, with escutcheon and large key, all against a dark green leather ground, opening to reveal a green velvet lined interior, impressed Kw to base, 13.5 x 17 x 11.5 cm.
