A pair of Japanese gilt bronze Buddhist flower baskets, Kaeko, Edo period (1603-1868), 17th century, each of pierced gilt bronze with very fine chasing work, the centre with a mature open lotus blossom with exposed seed pod, the cavetto with two lotus leaves and a lotus blossom surrounded by scrolling foliage. Together with woven orange silk cords and tassels with gilt bronze collars, each (the bronze baskets) 2.5 cm high, 24 cm diameter. With cords hanging 85 cm high,
