A Royal Worcester porcelain plaque by Harry Davis, 1925, depicting a farmyard scene with piglets at a feed trough overseen by a larger pig and a farm dog, signed H. Davis lower right, puce backstamp verso, 15 x 23 cm, frame 29.5 x 39.5 cm. Other Notes: pigs are a rare subject on Royal Worcester and Harry Davis was the only artist permitted to paint them. Most surviving examples are dated 1925 and show the same composition, based on a sketch Harry Davis made during a single visit to a local farm.
