A rare pre-European (moa hunter period) large argillite toki (adze), pale grey D'urville Island argillite from the Ohana quarry. Pronounced chin ridge, typical of early top of the South Island (Nelson) area, pronounced curved form c.13th/14th century, length 36.5 cm.
