A rare late 19th century Black Forest standing bear and branch carved coat / umbrella stand, the large standing bear supporting the tree trunk form with umbrella / walking stick holding sections. The above shaped mirror issuing from the trunk. The top as a T-bar branch with eight spiked hat or coat hangers surmounted with a seated baby bear, height 235 cm. Provenance: Private collection Waikato. Purchased about 20 years ago from a top Auckland dealer.
