A c1900 Bavarian Black Forest carved bear figured postal scales, the full figure standing bear holding a sphere supporting the postal balance scales, on turned platform base, height 38 cm. In glazed mahogany case with mirrored back opening door, height 52 cm. Provenance: Private collection Waikato. Purchased about 20 years ago from a top Auckland dealer.
