A French patinated-bronze group of La Renommee a Cheval sur Pegase, 19th century, a bronze reduction after the original marble by Antoine Coysevox (1640-1720), the personification of fame blowing her trumpet and seated on Pegasus above a trophy of arms, signed on plinth: Coysevox, height 41 cm. Provenance: Christie's, Amsterdam, European Furniture, Carpets, Sculpture and Works of Art, 30 June 2004, lot 255. Other Notes: the original marble, now in the Louvre, Paris, was commissioned for King Louis XIV's palace at Marly in 1698.
