A Japanese Imari charger, Meiji period (1868-1912), 19th century decorated in Imari palette of underglaze blue and overglaze iron-red, green and gilded with border of shaped cartouches of scrolling vines on brocade ground and geometric patterns, and a central cartouche with bird on branch surrounded by hatch and fret grounds, the exterior set with blooming plum branches.
