A quality late 19th century hand painted portrait on ivory of Marie Antoinette, after the 1783 portrait by Elisabeth Vigee Le Brun, the elegant study showing her with ornate coiffure heightened with feathers and wearing a teal dress with lace trim, holding a single rose, signed. The reverse inscribed 'Marie-Antoinette a la rose, Trianon'. The fancy ormolu frame with floral swags and flowering basket to the top. 22 x 16 cm.
