A George III satinwood and sabicu bonheur-du-jour, attributed to George Simson, circa 1790, with a gallery back above an open compartment and drawer, the extended lower section with a fall front fitted with an arrangement of compartments, drawers and a leather tooled writing surface, finely veneered throughout with fiddleback panels, contrasting cross banding, blonde and ebony stringing, and raised on tapering square section legs with petite brass casters, 120 cm high, 70 cm wide, 45.5 cm deep.
