A Chinese Imperial Edict, Daoguang period (1821-1,850), dated to March 1950 and of the period constructed of multicoloured silk brocade woven with scattered ruyi shaped clouds, mounted as a handscroll, and composed in standard form beginning with the declaration 'By Command of Heaven' in Manchu script flanked by two dragons woven in the brocade, followed by a handwritten Chinese and Manchu inscription in multicoloured pigments., 259.08 x 33.02 cm.
