A Chinese carved horn libation cup, early Qing Dynasty, 17th-18th century, 13 x 8.5 cm; 227g. Provenance: The Estate of the late Alan Myren (1934-2022), acquired in Adelaide in 1966, from another antiques dealer who thought it had come to Adelaide with returning missionaries to china around the time of the boxer Rebellion. Mr. Myren was a Museum assistant in the Indian section in Victoria and Albert Museum in London from 1954-64 and on his return to Australia, he established a highly respected antiques dealership known essentially for Oriental Antiques.
