A Regence ormolu mounted kingwood parquetry commode, first quarter 18th century, the marble top above two short and one long drawer with quarter veneer and feather banded fronts having richly cast ormolu handles, escutcheons, the swept legs with leaf cast chutes and sabots. Height 85 cm, width 111 cm, depth 57 cm. Provenance: Sotheby's, New York, fine French furniture, 21 May 1992, lot 62. Mr J. Smiley, Woollahra.
