A Victorian silver sifter spoon & a pair of Edwardian silver Coronation spoons, the sifter spoon, London 1853, with pierced shell bowl and apostle finial, the Coronation spoons, Birmingham 1902, of typical form with engraved bowls. The sifter: length 16 cm, other notes: the Coronation spoon, one of the oldest pieces of Coronation regalia to survive in the Royal collection, was first recorded in 1349 amongst St Edward's Regalia in Westminster Abbey and at that time was considered to be a spoon of 'antique forme'. It is used, with the Ampulla, to anoint the sovereign before the crowning.
