A late 19th century Japanese hand fan, the leaf painted with pheasants to one side, signed in script and red seal mark, and exotic blooms to the other (red seal mark), lacquered shaped sticks and ivory guards with lacquer cartouche, silk wrist tassle and ivory ojime with gilt lacquer flowers, Meiji period 1868-1912. Fan open: 49 x 29 cm. In fitted box (non extant).
