A very large floor standing Japanese Arita vase, overall blue and white decoration, of two sections with fluted top, some professional repair. The ovoid base with gilded eagle and selected highlights. Height 173 cm. Provenance: Reputedly ex. the collection of Governor Sir George Grey. It is noted 'that he sent buyer's to Japan to purchase fine porcelain around the time of his term...'
