A Victorian brass bound mahogany campaign chest by J. Shepherd, the top section with two short drawers above one full width drawer, two drawers to the base, recessed brass handles, corners and strap fittings. Raised on turned legs. The 2 halves of the chest are united by 4 lugs set into the top section. The backboards are made of stained pine and each section has a large painted stencil noting Est 1778 From J. Shepherd, Cabin Fitter, 90 Bishopsgate St., London. 91 x 45 x 104 cm
