A bronze portrait plaque by Petrus Verdie (Brazil/France early 20thC), signed and dated 19...?, foundry mark of Claude Valsuani, mounted on a mahogany board. Note on back reads: 'Louise Marie Callas born 29th April 1898, Married to Dr Gabriel Luquet on 3rd March 1919., Died in Paris on 18th November 1986, Laid to rest in Argenteuil (Yonne), Sculptured by her mother?s cousin in 1913'. 32 x 32 cm. The Valsuani foundry was associated with Renoir, Daumier, Picasso, Troubetskoy, Matisse, et al. Verdie was at various times in the early 20th century on the committee of, and an exhibitor at the Exposicoes Gerais de Belas Artes, Rio de Janeiro.
