A sterling silver and ivory Foundation Laying trowel, 1910 Sheffield, with maker's mark for John round & Son Ltd, the finely carved ivory handle to a large trowel with bright cut and engraved foliate decoration and borders, enclosing an inscription 'To Joseph Ellis by Trustees Almshouses Weelsby St Grimsby, stone laid Aug 26th, 1901', hallmarked to trowel and ferrule. Total weight 240g length 31.5 cm
