A Chinese polychrome baluster vase, bearing Daoguang mark, 20th century. Of baluster form with a bulbous body, flaring neck and gilded dragon handles, decorated with alternating shaped cartouches of birds on blooming peony branches and poems, against a red ground of flower heads and tendrils between lappet and key fret borders, the interior painted in turquoise, bearing a Daoguang six-character seal mark in underglaze blue and an export-type seal to the underside.
