Large native American Black-on-white Olla (water jar), Acoma Pueblo, new Mexico, USA, c. 1910-20, hand coiled earthenware, ovoid vessel with thin walls, indented bottom to carry on head, adorned with stylised designs of mountains, rain and feathers from the neck to the shoulder, above a continuous band of key motif for house and marriage, and a larger band below depicting rain, mountains, lightning and house, height 27 cm. Design applied with traditional Acoma vegetal pigment constructing yucca brushes fired in outside.
