Bassett-Lowke live steam wooden model of a D36 V Class Destroyer of the British Royal Navy. Based on hallmarked sterling Vivacious which was launched in 1916. The wooden hull is battleship grey with a maroon lower hull, fitted with a live steam driven marine engine and boiler, driving a single rear propeller with rudder (untested). The deck is equipped with various metal fittings including guns (one loose), two masts, a searchlight and metal bridge and superstructure. Rarely seen flags are present. Access to the marine engine is via two removable deck mounted panels. Front rigging needs reattachment, some very fine cracking to the paintwork, otherwise very good to excellent. Retains 'A Bassett-Lowke model made in Northampton' transfer to the stern. Length 96 cm
