A ceiling panel from Chettinad Palace, Kanadukathan, Tamil Nadu. This panel dates to the 19th century. Ornately created in the traditions of wood carving for Chettinad architecture. Made from a hardwood, and includes motifs of flora and fauna and geometry. From the house of the Raja of Chettinad, which was built in 1912. Height 142 cm, width 40.5 cm, depth 5 cm.
