A walking stick, Solomon Islands, 20th century. Hand carved from a hardwood and highly polished. This walking stick is made with a long cylindical shaft that graduated up into a square cross-section below the handle. At the upper section of the walking stick is two collars flanking a rectangular section with a bulbous centre. The handle is a rounded. Delicately and painstackingly hand carved into the uppersection of the walking stick are small triangular geometric patterns. Length 95 cm, depth 4.8 cm
