A Modang Dayak baby carrier, Indonesia, 20th century. The baby carrier would be worn on the back and the child would sit inside the carrier. The carrier is carved from a single piece of wood and features an anthropomorphic figure as the central design. The carrier has embellishments of a conus shell eye and inlaid beads to the sides.
