An ancient kumete trough, Tonga, used for the production and consumption of kava. Made from toad wood that has weathered over time. At one end there is a carved notch for pouring kava liquids. Height 18.5 cm, width 90 cm, depth 27 cm. Provenance: Previously of the Keith St Cartmail collection
