A Kali Hahapo headrest, Tonga, late 19th century. Placed under the head or the back of a neck whilst sleeping or resting. An elegant form that is carved from a single piece of hardwood without joins. A double form with a thin concave ridge running up the sides and neckrest. With arched legs that feature wedges at the base. In a rich dark patina. Height 15 cm, width 39 cm, depth 15 cm
