A Kali Hahapo headrest, Tonga, late 19th century. Placed under the head or the back of a neck whilst sleeping or resting. Carved from a single piece of hardwood without joins. An elegant form with a faint concavity to the neckrest and a medial ridge to the underside. The two wide curved legs feature wedges to the bottom. Height 13 cm, width 38 cm, depth 15.1 cm
