A stone adze, Malaita Island, Solomon Islands. A ceremonial adze of heavy proportions. A long handle with a hand guard encircling the rounded blade. A raised ridge to each side of the blade echoes the form of the adze. Length 28.5 cm, width 12 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, Aotearoa.
