A pou Whakairo, Aotearoa, early 20th century. A free-standing carved figure standing upon a carved head. With p_ua shell inlays to both the wheku head form and the manaia head. The three-fingered hands rest upon the stomach with elbows bent behind the body. Knees are slightly bent and feet are facing forward. Carved with intricate koru patterning with predominantly notch tooth patterns. Mounted on a black coated metal stand. Height 1080 (stand inclusive)mm, width 9 cm, depth 15 cm.
