A child's cape, Aotearoa, Kakahu Tamariki (child's cloak) - finely woven early child's or infants cloak in all natural fibres. The main body of this kakahu is made entirely from muka and is adorned with tessellating squares in natural and died fibres to form a checkerboard like design. Five sections of orange adorn the extreme upper fringe and original suspension cords are present. Presented in a Museum grade frame, this kakahu has been stabilised and preserved to ensure it lasts for generations to come., frame 75.5 x 104 cm. Provenance: Private Collection, Aotearoa
