A kete, Aotearoa, fine feather kete (flax bag). Feather kete became a favourite acquisition for Collectors in the early Victorian curio trade owing to their beauty and utilitarian nature. This well used example is presented in a Museum grade frame to ensure it lasts for generations to come. Adorned with the remains of native bird feathers and a bold processed fibre fringe, this imposing example shows the intricate nature that often lays hidden below the feathers. Frame 54.5 x 42.5 cm.
