A Holo Headress mask, Democratic Republic of Congo, Holo helmet masks are worn at the top of the head in conjunction with a large raffia costume. This holo mask has a small carved head depicting a female with an elaborate coiffure fanning across her head. The face has large almond shaped eyes and a short, delicate nose. The mouth is open with teeth baring. At the back of the helmet is a bustle made from a cotton fabric that has colourful, hand-painted geometric patterns. Around the helmet is raffia fringing.
