A Georges Jouve (French 1910-1964) rare 1950's orange glazed pitcher, fine band of pale glaze to the rim, black glazed interior. Incised marks to base, height 19 cm. Small repair to lip of spout. Note: Georges Jouve is one of the most important ceramists of the 1950s. Born into a family of decorators, he was soon encouraged to study architecture. At the age of seventeen, he started training both in Art history and sculpture at the prestigious Ecole boulle.
