Colonial Australian sporting silver cup, this Victorian period cup having twin scrolled handles with rococo styled decoration depicting quintessentially Australian hunting scene. Having a stepped base with folate embellishments, the lid which is also stepped with a pie crust edge and an ornate emu finial. Cup title 'North Australian Stakes 1855'. By Samuel Hayne & Dudley Cater. London 1854. Height 31 cm. Weight 675.6 grams.
