Whalebone hei tiki by Mathew Thornton, this finely carved hei tiki displays inlaid serrated paua eyes, the head sits upon a curved body with the three fingers of the left hand held across the torso and the right hand oriented to the mouth. Two holes for suspension on the back of the head. Modern 20th century. 10 cm length
