19th century pounamu pekapeka, polished tangiwai (bowenite) variety stone showing the grain. Recessed eyes. Provenance: belonged to Annie Shasky (nee Turnball) the current owner's great grandmother. Most likely given to Annie when her husband George Shasky was gifted his hei tiki from Henare potae after leaving the Tokomaru bay freezing works. 6 cm length.
