An early Victorian sterling silver pepperette, 1839 Sheffield, with maker's mark for Henry Wilkinson. With gilt interior, the fine urn-shaped pepper shaker with a well embossed lobed lid, a foliate scalloped rim and finial, the baluster body with applied and engraved climbing leaves forming a cartouche, over a knopped stem to a circular spreading rocaille base. Weight: 95g, height 12 cm
