A 19th century marine chronometer by James Bassnett, Liverpool, (1841-55) Gimballed in a three-tier rosewood case, silvered dial signed and numbered 388, with gold spade hands, subsidiary seconds at VI and 56 power reserve dial at XII. Fusee movement, working, with key. The case brass capped and bound with recessed side handles, signed and numbered on ivory plaque to front. 17 cm square.
