An antique Indian silver bracelet (kataria), Orissa origin, 19th/20th century. Note: this bracelet form is inspired by Vishnu's serrated-edged weapon (chakra); a steel disc with a central hole and a sharpened edge, twirled rapidly on a forefinger and hurled at an adversary. 11 cm diameter, internal 5 cm diameter, 127 grams. Provenance: Private Collection, Melbourne.
