Fine large narrow shield, Yalata, South Australia. Carved and engraved hardwood. With convex front and triangular section, the front decorated with incised linear lozenge motifs separated by an incised cross band at the centre, the reverse undecorated with deep-cut lug handle, old glossy patina overall. Approx length 84 x 13 cm. Provenance: Estate Clearance centre, Melbourne, Victoria. Private Collection, South Australia.
