A carved Chinese Qing dynasty jade two-handled lidded vase, height 15.5 cm, diameter 9.5 cm, with a flattened pear shaped body resting on a splayed foot centred with a grooved band, the lower section of the vessel worked in low relief with a frieze enclosing a taotie mask on each main side, interrupted by a pair of loop handles in the form of mythical beast masks, the stepped cover with a cambered band detailed with a finely carved lion handle, the azure-green nephrite flecked with lighter inclusions
