A Japanese four case gold lacquer Inro and netsuke, Meiji period (1868-1912), with main design of an Oni in the form of Fuijin (wind god) in takamaki-e on a panel of pewter coloured ground, the opposing side of an Oni having taken a human prisoner by a rope. The ensuite boxwood mask netsuke of an Oni, the Himotoshi (cord hole) carved as woven rope on the reverse side. With silver and shakudo ojime. Unsigned. The inro 7.5 cm high, 5.5 cm wide.
