A Japanese Ko-Kutani shaped dish, Edo period (1603-1868), 1640-1650, with fluted and lobed rim, freely painted in early Ko-Kutani palette of dark green, mustard yellow and iron red, with black outlines, with an image of a blooming red chrysanthemum. The reverse decorated with red pine needles and a blue fuku mark. 3.5 cm high, 15.5 cm wide. Provenance: The Genine Wallinga collection.
