An outstanding Georgian memorial bracelet set with a gold locket portrait miniature the woven hair bracelet with plain bar ends fitting to an oval locket enclosing a portrait miniature of a young man (3.3 x 4.8 cm), in oils on ivory leaf. The locket cover (separated) with repousse acanthus scrolls and small branches bearing berries, centred on a cruciform flowerhead, applied to a matted ground, length 16.9 cm. Unmarked gold, tests as 14ct or higher. One small leaf absent and hinge barrel opened. In original satin and velvet lined, maroon leather covered box.
